Russian Pictures At Their Best

I found this blog site a few years back. Every now and then I go and look at all the different pictures submitted by people living all over Eastern Europe. It is quite interesting not to mention entertaining too! When I came across this picture-- I freaked out at first. These are the kind of apartments we have stayed in while in Ukraine and Russia and undoubtedly we will be staying in another building like this in just a few short months. Before seeing this picture I often wondered what would happen if there was a fire or part of the building collapsed just from being so old.

Then I started reading the comments and realized that it must be PhotoShopped--- or is it?

Your thoughts???

oh yes I love that site I go there all the time. I have looked at abandoned railroad yards, abandoned cities, chernobyl, and so many other fabulous photos there. I dont know if its photoshopped or not in the one you linked but some of the buildings I have seen in ukraine and russia its a very real possibility for them to just FALL IN !

If you look at what the categories the picture is filed under, one of them is "fiction"
It also appears that some areas seem to have smoke coming out of them.
So my guess would be that either some disaster struck and someone decided to joke around and put it up as a real building, or it has been photoshopped, and the "smoke" is just smudges.
But I definitely do not think that people live there...

Looks Photoshopped to me! But, I suppose it may be a real picture.

If it is real, which it looks like it might be, it is probably a building under demolition.

As a photographer, I can say with quite a lot of certainty, that there is only 2 ways that they got this shot

1. this building was being demolished and they just happened to get "the shot" which is pretty amazing

2. it is photoshopped...

I am pretty sure this building doesnt exist in this condition long term... ccol concept though

As an engineer and someone living in Moscow, I would say this photo is photoshopped. I am pretty sure if a building collapsed in this manner it would have been all over the news here.
