Applied for Passports

Yesterday we applied for Rachel and Caleb's passports. Afterwards, I took them and the little boys out to Wendy's for lunch. We all ate off the dollar menu which made for an inexpensive lunch for five and I spent most of the time trying to explain Ukrainian food to Caleb-- specifically their version of fast food restaurants. It brought back memories describing a couple of the places we ate at in Ukraine this past summer like the Potato Bar--- and I was surprised at how game Caleb sounded. He is a very picky eater in general, so I am curious to see how he is going to respond to the new tastes, smells, and overall difference in foods. Rachel is so excited at the thought of going back to her homeland---- and can't wait to eat all of the food!

Our homestudy is done-- just waiting on it to be finalized. As soon as I send it off to immigration I will begin the paper chase to gather our documents for our dossier.

Until then...

haha...I'm sure the Ukrainian foods will be a surprise. But that's amazing that he's willing to try. I think it's so cool that both he and Rachel are going with you guys. wish I could come! lol...will you be taking Alex or Dennis along as well?

I'm a picky eater too.. and I was SO worried about the foods. I hope Caleb enjoys it like I did. And, I hope Rachel enjoys seeing her homeland again. I look forward to the day we can take Daisy back and let her see Ukraine.

Thank You for sharing with us! I always look forward to all of your updates from both blog sites.
I am just curious as to how this adoption works. Do you already know who the next wonderful member of your family is? or are you going on this trip to meet all of the children and decide then? (I was going to say 'pick' one, but that sounds like the wrong term. :-/) Anyway, don't mean to be nosey, just curious! I am so inspired by your family. Your children are so lucky to be where they are and loved by you and your husband. Good luck in getting everything in place for this trip.

How does it all work this time? Do you have any idea what child you'll be adopting? Or will you not know until you get there? Or before you get there but a little later in the process?

My question to you is this, are you going to "pick" out a child when you get to the Ukraine? Will you just take whom ever you are given? I was just wondering for a few reasons, the biggest being I don't know how the process works, and this is going so fast (Not that it matters(fast).
Just so I am not misunderstood, I am not tying to be mean or anything I am just curious how things work.
